Choosing attractions
The guides aim first to help you decide what to see, how long to spend and how to reach the next stop. An attraction has different appeal for a family, a museum enthusiast or someone staying just one day. Recommendations explain these differences.
Sources and estimates
Opening hours, prices and visiting conditions are researched with venues and operators. Booking links lead to the relevant venue or provider. Walking times are estimates based on a calculated route, excluding breaks, visits and hills.
Maps use real geographical data. They are neither field surveys nor guarantees of accessibility. Neighbourhood points may be walking landmarks rather than entrance addresses.
Prices and budget
Operator prices remain in pounds. Euro equivalents are indicative, calculated using the displayed rate and date. Any bank charges are excluded. For hotels or meals, the guide specifies whether a figure is a budget estimate or a price observed for a specific booking.
Bookings and affiliation
The guide links to venues, hotels and platforms selling the services described. An admission ticket, guided tour and excursion with transport do not include the same services: articles explain what may change your choice.
When a link is affiliated, a booking may earn the site a commission. The guide adds no fee to the merchant’s displayed price. Sales conditions, inclusions and cancellation remain those of the provider at purchase.
At this preparation stage, links are not affiliated; partnerships will be disclosed when actually activated. The guide receives neither your payment nor your booking details.
Photographs
Photos help you recognise places. The photographer is named in the caption and full references are collected in ‘Photo credits’ at the bottom of the site. They are not presented as Alex’s personal photographs.
